The end of photojournalism?
I have recently come across an article on the guardian website that states the photojournalism is dead, that it's an end of an era.
I don't necessarily think this is true due to the fact there is always going to be news to report and there is always going to be a need for people to physically see it, and articles mostly use photo's along with information to put across a story, never the less my opinion is but one.
The article says that some magazines and newspapers are no longer putting funding into photojournalism as they now only fund into photo illustration.
They said 'they will commission a portrait or two.. They might send a photographer off with a writer to illustrate a writers story'.
Overall it is and interesting article to read, however as this is a field i am quite interested in working in once i am more qualified i do not wish to believe that photojournalism is dead.
